Resident Education

Resident education in clinic, conference, and the operating room.

Professionally, I am actively involved in teaching almost every single day. I have participated in the training of over twenty residents in my operating room over the past twelve years. I serve as core faculty for our residency program, and have served as the Associate Program Director. I designed and developed our Didactic Curriculum in collaboration with my colleagues in neurosurgery as well as in other departments across our Medical School and Health System. I participate in their lectures, conferences, journal clubs, tumor board conference, as well as the quality and complication avoidance conference. I have personally given them more lectures than any other neurosurgery faculty member—which I love to do! Most recently I began a Joint Spine Conference that I have put together in collaboration with my colleagues in the Orthopedic Surgery Department. This conferences allow us to hear and think about different perspectives for the treatment of different pathologies.
