I am currently collaborating with my colleagues in the radiation
oncology department to look at prognostic factors and clinical
outcomes for patients who undergo retreatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia
with Gamma Knife Radiosurgery.
Many patients prefer this type of treatment to invasive
treatments for Trigeminal Neuralgia, however, the role utilizing Gamma
Knife to retreat patients with recurrent disease has not been
investigated in the literature.
We hope our findings shed light on the use of this treatment
modality in this setting.
In October of 2022, we presented our research at the American
Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in San Antonio and
the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Meeting in San Franciso.
