Improving Patient Safety

I am constantly striving to improve patient safety in surgical interventions. Many of my research projects over the years have been prompted by asking the question: how can I improve the safety of this procedure for my patients? I have tried to answer these questions by performing research on topics for improving safety in spine surgery (Fahim DK, 2010; Fahim DK, 2011; Wang AC, 2018, Thomas AM, 2020), the care of patients with spine tumors (Guckenberger M, 2014) and care of patients with brain tumors (Trinh VT, 2014).
