Professionally, I am actively involved in teaching almost every single
day. I have participated
in the training of twenty residents in my operating room over the past
twelve years. Initially,
they were rotating residents, and for the past five years we have had
our own residency program.
I serve as core faculty for our residency program, and as the
Associate Program Director.
I oversee our Didactic Curriculum which I have designed and
developed over the past several years, in collaboration with my
colleagues in neurosurgery as well as in other departments across our
Medical School and Health System.
I participate in every one of their lectures and conferences,
journal clubs, tumor board conference, as well as the quality and
complication avoidance conference.
I personally, give them more lectures than any other
neurosurgery faculty member.
Most recently I began a Joint Spine Conference that I have put
together in collaboration with my colleagues in the Orthopedic Surgery
Department. This
conferences allow us to hear and think about different perspectives
for the treatment of different pathologies.
